NEWS - What's happening at McDowell & Headwaters Christmas in July Service Join the folks at McDowell Presbyterian on Sunday, July 27 for our second annual Christmas in July worship and celebration service at 11.15 a.m., followed by lunch and an ice cream social. There'll be a hand-crank freezer so you can take your turn at making ice cream the old-fashioned way. Another Great Day! Community-wide Vacation Bible School Saturday, August 2. Contact Beth at 396-3624 or Chris Scott at 396-3460 for more information about VBS or how you can help out. Even if you don't have children, pencil in the date. There will be a community-wide pot luck supper on the McDowell Presbyterian grounds at 5.00 p.m., followed by a program by the children at McDowell Methodist. VBS starts at 10.00 a.m. There is no pre-registration, so bring your children to McDowell Presbyterian between 9.30 and 10.00 a.m. and come back that evening for supper and a great program by some great kids. Fifth Sunday Service at McDowell Presbyterian The area Fifth Sunday Service in August will be held on August 31 at McDowell Presbyterian at 11.15 a.m. There will be no service at Headwaters on Fifth Sunday. Fifth Sunday will be hosted by McDowell Presbyterian, but worship will be led by folks from the Mission Team of the McDowell Methodist Charges recently returned from their trip to Guatemala. Come and join believers from all the area churches for a wonderful worship experience and the chance to learn more about the mission work coming out of the Highlands.
